Jos van Vreeswijk

Jos Van Vreeswijk has been a sculptor/painter for 40 years. During this time he has developed and matured as an artist and established a serious reputationas one of Hollands foremost sculptors in stone.

His work is characterized by direct cutting. Only in more recent years has he turned to casting some of his carved work in bronze. The sculptors from Jos van Vreeswijk can be divided in four distinct periods: 1973 - 1984, 1985 - 1990 and 1991 – 2003 and 2004 till now. In these periods we see a development in style and change in expression, reflecting the stages of the artist’s life.
